Die im Band vorhandene Provenienzeintragung "Bened. Duben" konnte bisher nicht eindeutig zugeordnet werden. Im Pfarrerbuch der Kirchenprovinz Sachsen sind Sohn und Enkel des Erstbesitzers mit gleichem Namen verzeichnet. Es ist auch ungeklärt, wie der Band nach Wittenberg gelangte.
